The College of Kinesiology has been successfully occupied since year 2004
The 185,000 ft2 (17,200 m2) addition and renovation contains offices, classrooms, gymnasium, pool facilities, fitness facilities, food services, etc. The main gymnasium is home to U of S Basketball, Volleyball and other teams, and seats upwards of 2,500 spectators for Huskie events.
The facility is connected to and receives it’s heating and cooling from the central campus utilities:
- High pressure (125 psi steam)
- Central campus chilled water system
The mechanical design features the following:
- Dual fan dual duct air distribution systems
- Ventilation system for large gymnasium adapts to use and occupancy requirements
- Glycol loop heat recovery systems
- CO2 monitoring in high density spaces
- Variable speed motors on fans and pumps
- Project successfully complied under the Federal Government’s CBIP program.
